!!!!! WARNING, I COMPLETELY REFUSE TO WRITE SERIOUS INFORMATION ABOUT ANYTHING UNTIL... Until...... UNTIL I FEEL LIKE I CAN WRITE SOMETHING SERIOUS WITHOUT FUCKING THE WHOLE WIKI UP. PREPARE FOR CRINGE. !!!!!

the funne race of sentient polymorphic gay space rocks

ok listen i refuse to copy anything from the canon wiki and i suck at explaining so if you want proper information on just what the hell Gems are and how these idiots canonically function, visit this page on the Steven Universe Wiki

ani-ways

The way these degenerates function in the Antiverse and pretty much most other multiverses that involve them (beyond too but the species of a code controller generally doesnt matter so uh yeah)[]

in general[]

Ok so, first of all, most of this and most of this.

Biology crap ig (or would that technically be, like.. Gemmology or something? Cause, like, you know.. we dealin' with sentient minerals here)[]

second of all, the gemstones are sensitive as frick (how else do you expect me to make the ''food content'' (gem pain)?)

third of all, if you yeet a gem somewhere without any light whatsoever, the gemstone will commit slowly shutting down various shit in attempt to conserve energy to survive for longer. First goes the colour of the physical form, second goes the physical form, third goes the colour of the gemstone and then when it completely runs out of energy it just fucking crumbles and boom, death. the whole process generally goes for around several months or so

in the void, due to said void's anti-people measures, the time you have until your gem cant even hold itself together anymore just goes the fuck ahead and skyrockets downwards to about an hour

Shit That Is So Long I Require A Separate Page to Explain It[]

Defect List

Cluster Fusion

Corruption

Alcor Influence

Socialization related b.s.[]

Ok now for the names

w the loyalists there is generally some sort of pattern. like

servants are generally named by their owners. that depends on gemtype tho since with pearls most of the time both the owner and the sentient belonging prefer to just go for whatever the pearl was called when made (yknow the whole "cherry pearl ocean pearl black pearl cream pearl gold pearl tahitian pearl etc" bullshit). spinels most of the time dont get a name because they just don't. with pebbles shit is more cringe since they dont even have owners and the empire doesnt even acknowledge they exist like 99,9% of the time and so they just slap nicknames on eachother and exist with it

the gems in approximately the middle of this shitty society (militia, service trade) generally prefer to go for either just the gem name + id 24/8, or gem name + id when formal ish talk and just gem name/random nickname whenever not formal ish talk. actual names do happen but arent as common as the previous two

(if you have no idea on what i mean by 'nicknames': grab the famethyst and that one bunch of rubies and use them as an example because in this specific situation they are indeed an example, and a good one at that)

as for my least favourite idiots, the fucking aristocrats least favourite, you say? the amount of aristocrat OC's you have says otherwise, Leso. .. Welp these are the very fucking gems that use actual names most frequently. and by most frequently i mean 98% of the fucking time

as for the defective crayons diamonds, they ironically go for the same pattern as in pearl names (excluding the whole owner bullshit, obviously).

and w the rebels they just do whatever with names. most of those who had one upon joining in on the dumb stuff choose to just stick with whatever their name was

the "whats your name" question doesnt exist among most gems because they have no idea what "name" even fucking means. they do use names, but that specific term for them? no. so instead the question sounds like "what do you prefer to call yourself" or any possible variation of that

List of all gemtypes that exist in this shithole[]

i stole the rank section names from gem galaxies btw

Gemtypes i, ahem, 'borrowed' from other AU's[]

Trivia[]

  • Gems are my favourite fictional species.
    • I don't even know why; my brain just decided that they are.
  • I have incredibly stupid nicknames for nearly every single gemtype. they can be found here
  • did you know that i am hopelessly addicted to seeing gems suffer from immense physical gemstone-related damage (yknow, stuff like cracking, getting shattered, etc)? I bet you didn't. I also bet that you probably don't count me as normal anymore lmfao
    • yes, this is the one and only reason why my fucking AU's contain so much of that stuff
  • i genuinely hate (most) aristocrat/authorative gems yet my brain keeps spamming OC's and gemtypes of that rank
  • i make shitloads of shattering-related jokes
    • no i will not tell you any of them. most of them were just made on the fly according to the situation and i tend to forget minor stuff like that unless i write it down somewhere
  • did you know that uhhh ummm i forgot
  • why am i here i was supposed to do homework WHAT AM I DOING HERE
  • the only reason why i decided to make corruption function like it functions is because Dementia (yknow that kyanite) and Aurum exist and i wanted them to exist and needed a reason for them to function like they function very fast. it then sticked around and yeah uh you know how i tend to get emotionally attached to shit i'm not supposed to get emotionally attached to
  • if you want an actual good quality explaination on why catnip works on cat's eyes the same way it works on normal cats and are waiting for me to create said explaination... i congratulate you on becoming Canon Stale Spinach #2, because i'm not doing that anytime soon
  • jaspers give me vietnam flashbacks
    • malachites of the fusion variety do that too
  • i spilled soy sauce on my floor, table and chair while typing this
  • i love adding completely unrelated trivia
  • gelidus says hi
  • no matter what kind of original world i'm making, somehow at some point i eventually end up stuffing gems there, and then the world no longer works without gems and i just have to keep them around
    • this is literally what happened with aether forest and the randomizer
      • i evicted gems out of aether forest on exactly 30.08.23, but that still happened so it counts
    • it also happened to cycle 2022 like yesterday or so
  • the 'F' and 'D' in overdone types have nothing to do with tiers they literally just stand for 'fragile' and 'durable'
    • i am so creative with names arent i
  • guess how many peridots were shattered for accidentally creating overdone / incomplete gems
  • analcimes are so funny you have no idea
  • forks.
  • the glowstorm
  • go play coldr
